Council on Aging Daily Update

Updates, Monday April 5th, 2021

The clinic for tomorrow is for second shots only. The vaccine for first doses didn’t make it here to the Berkshires today so the only appointments available on Tuesday  are for second shots…if you’re looking for your first vaccine jab unfortunately you’re out of luck today.

There will be another clinic scheduled later this week for Thursday. Stay tuned for details.

There is a Covid vaccination clinic scheduled tomorrow, Tuesday April 6th, at St Elizabeth of Hungary in North Adams from 2:00 to 5:00. The waiting room will open tonight at 6:00. They recommend that everybody should be in the virtual waiting room at least 20 minutes before 6 TONIGHT.

That means log in at 5:30.Yup, my math appears to be off. I’m just telling you to get in ahead of the recommended time…

Don’t wait until 6:00!

www.getvaccinatedberkshires.org is the recommended site so get in there.

Who’s eligible now? Individuals who are 55+ or have 1 + certain medical conditions are now eligible to be vaccinated.

There might be some Johnson and Johnson shots in the mix too…

Now, if you’re a veteran of any age, there’s an opportunity for you to get vaccinated on Saturday April 10th at Berkshire Community College in Pittsfield. The clinic will run from 9:00-1:00. Spouses are also eligible.

The clinic is by appointment only, pre-registration is required and you can pre-register for this clinic by calling 413-582-3110. There’s some other information you’ll need to provide regarding your veterans status, verifications etc, but they’ll be able to help you with that when you call. By the way, it’s a Johnson and Johnson clinic folks, or as they say “one and done”.

RSVP Senior Volunteer Corps are trying to implement a volunteer driver transportation program to provide rides for individuals without access to cars. They’re looking for folks who have been vaccinated and are willing to drive people here and there in Berkshire County.  They currently have a base of drivers but really need more to enhance the program. If you’re interested in becoming a volunteer driver you can contact them at 413.395.0109.
