Council on Aging Daily Update

Updates, Tuesday February 2nd, 2021

OK, here is the skinny on the current vaccination phase;

Phase 2 Vaccinations:

Who: 75 years of age and older only (Updated and does not include 2 Co-Morbidities Group) 500 vaccinations expected for each clinic

Vaccine: Pfizer (requires 2 doses approximately 21 days apart, 2nd dose scheduled at time of first dose)

When:             Thursday, February 4, 2021 12:00pm – 8:00pm

                         Saturday, February 6, 2021 8:00am – 2:00pm

We’ve tried to get as many people in for appointments as possible when slots open. We have a list we’ve compiled and we’re trying to get to as many people as we can. The issue is availability  and as it’s first come first serve. We’ll do our best..

Note that it says 75 and older. At the moment that is a hard line and they will not vaccinate anyone under the current limit. I have heard from people who are 65 and older and I am aware that the Governor has moved these individuals up including the people with comorbidities. He just hasn’t moved them up to the current stage of Phase 2. There are a lot of 75 and over people who haven’t gotten in yet, be patient. Part of the problem is that the list is open to all Massachusetts residents so anyone who lives in the Commonwealth can come and subsequently some have.

If you are part 65 and older cohort, follow this link for more information;

If you reside in Proprietors Field, there will be a clinic for Proprietors Field residents with Walgreens on Wednesday February 10th here at the Harper Center. Someone will be in touch with you. It’s only for residents of Proprietors Field. Sorry.

Our friends from the Williamstown Theatre Festival Community Works program are planning to host a new  workshop on Wednesday, February 10. This workshop will focus on dance, and we are lucky to have three renowned dancers helping facilitate, Sara Esty, Leigh-Ann Esty, and Emilio Ramos. If you’re interested in being considered to participate on Zoom, follow this link  this form by 5pm on Thursday, February 4. Space is very limited so filling out this form does not guarantee you a spot in the workshop. WTF will review submissions and confirm IF they are able to offer you a spot by the end of day on Friday, February 5.

Participants will attend a rehearsal on Zoom on Monday, February 8 from 4-5pm to troubleshoot any technical issues. Availability for this date and time is required in order to participate!

The workshop, of course, will still be broadcast on Facebook, so anyone will be able to participate that way, no matter what! Questions?

Email Hayley-you’ll get her at hsherwood@wtfestival.org

Enjoy the snow. It’s beautiful out there!
