Well, here we go. Tomorrow is a big day in Williamstown and we all know that this has, to put it rather mildly, been an interesting year and there are all sorts of potential ramifications to follow. The Annual Town Election will be held on Tuesday, May 11, 7am to 8pm in the gym of the Williamstown Elementary School.  Parking is available in the School Street Lot in the rear of the school (accessible only from School Street). Handicap accessible parking is also available in the School Street lot.Please remember that mask and social distancing guidelines will be in effect.Hopefully this will be the last time for this…

On Thursday May 13th, from 5:00 to 7:00 in the evening, Community Legal Aid is offering a program with their staff attorneys leading  an exploration of the history of structural racism, the implications of race and racism in education, housing, and employment law.Should be an interesting conversation folks. They’ll tell you how Community Legal Aid can help you too if you have concerns in your life, or the lives of your friends.

Someone asked me last Friday afternoon about homebound vaccinations and maybe it’s time to reiterate what I know about these. For the record, nobody has called me to tell me of the results of any homebound vaccinations so i cannot comment on the efficacy of the program. Here goes;

If you believe you need an in-home vaccination, please contact the Homebound Vaccination Central Intake Line at (833) 983-0485. You can also contact Elder Services of Berkshire County at 413.499.0524 for assistance with this. Two options! They both work!

At the vaccination line, Representatives are available Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Representatives are available in both English and Spanish, and also have access to translators for over 100 languages For Elder Services, it’s 8:00 to 5:00 Monday through Friday. They also have languages available but I can’t tell you how many at the moment.

You’re eligible for homebound vaccinations if; you have considerable difficulty and/or require significant support to leave the home for medical appointments

Require ambulance or two-person assistance to leave the home or are not able to leave the home for medical appointments under normal circumstances

Here’s the “other” news…the next vaccine clinic at St. Elizabeth’s is on Thursday, 5/13. There are a few different options available as we work to serve the diverse needs of the community.  Please note that at this time Pfizer is the only vaccine available for those 16-18 years old. Those under 18 should plan to attend with a parent/guardian.

 They will be offering second dose Moderna or Pfizer appointments from 12-5 pm. Folks needing a second dose to complete the vaccination process should register using the private link that was sent to the email address they used to register. We can also assist folks who are having difficulties scheduling a second dose appointment Just call us, 413.458.8250

.As always, if you got a private link telling you when to sign up for number 2, do not share!

 They’ll be offering first dose Pfizer appointments from 12-6. Folks can register in advance at www.getvaccinatedberkshires.org,  Those who have scheduled appointments should plan to arrive at St. Elizabeth’s at or a little before their appointment time. Please bring an ID and your vaccination card (if applicable).  Those with scheduled appointments will be checked in at the front steps.  We are strongly encouraging folks to register in advance!

 There will be a walk up clinic with on site registration open from 2-6 pm. The walk up clinic will be offering 100 Johnson and Johnson and 200 Pfizer vaccines on a first come, first served basis. Folks who would prefer to utilize the walk up clinic will be lining up along the Holden Street side of the building and be entering through the doorway closest to the courthouse. Wait times will vary based on the number of participants. Please bring an ID and health insurance information (if available).

Oh, and an umbrella if it’s raining…
