Nominations sought for Charter and Bylaw Review

The Select Board is seeking nominations of residents interested in
working on a comprehensive review of the Town Charter and related bylaws
addressing the structure of town government. The Charter has not had a
comprehensive review since its enactment in 1956, nor have the bylaws
which also address how town government is organized. The review is
projected to last 12-15 months, so that any proposed changes will be
ready for Town Meeting in May 2024. A draft overview of the project is
in the Select Board meeting packet for July 25th, and the discussion
during that meeting can be seen on Willinet. Nominations, including
self-nominations, should be emailed to Bob Menicocci at
rmenicocci@williamstownma.gov by August 15th.
