Community and Economic Development

Community Development Department

The Community Development Department is made up of three offices—BuildingHealth, and Land Use & Planning—that work together to support Williamstown’s long‑term vitality. Our work includes economic development and business retention, inspection services, conservation of natural resources, land‑use planning, permitting, housing initiatives, transportation planning, and grant management.

We provide staffing support to many of Williamstown’s boards and commissions. All of our efforts align with the Town’s most current planning documents, including the Envisioning Williamstown 2035 Master Plan, the Open Space and Recreation Plan, and the Hazard Mitigation Plan.
