The Department of Public Works appreciates your patience as Highway Department crews recover from several long hours of recent snow removal and prepare for more work.
Starting late Thursday night into early Friday morning crews will be working to remove more snow from Spring Street, downtown sidewalks, and nearby areas in Williamstown.
Highway Department Snow Removal Plan (Thursday Night–Friday)
The Highway Department will begin snow removal operations Thursday night and continue into Friday with the following priorities:
- Crews will first focus on Spring Street and Latham Street.
- Crews will then split up to clear Water Street and Park Street, with the goal of completing this work before early-morning traffic increases.
- After these areas are complete, crews will remove snow from Church Street in front of Williamstown Elementary School, and from Cole Avenue in front of Wild Soul River and The Spirit Shop.
- Crews will then remove snow in front of Saints Patrick and Raphael Church on Southworth Street.
- Finally, crews will address intersections where snowbanks are blocking sight lines for oncoming traffic.
Important Reminder:
Vehicles parked in areas where snow removal is taking place will be towed by the Police Department to allow crews to work safely and efficiently.
Thank you for your cooperation as crews work to keep roads safe and passable.
