Department of Public Works

The Williamstown Department of Public Works (DPW) is responsible for maintaining and improving the town’s infrastructure to ensure public safety, accessibility, and quality of life for residents.

The Department’s core functions include:

  • Road maintenance and storm water management, including paving, surface sealing, pothole repairs, gravel road maintenance, snow and ice control, general upkeep of public streets and sidewalks, and streetlight maintenance.
  • Water and sewer services, which involves overseeing water distribution, sewer systems, and related infrastructure.
  • Parks and Cemetery care and operation, including maintaining public green spaces, burial operations, recreation, and parks.
  • Transfer Station operations, including managing solid waste and recycling services for participating residents.
  • Facilities Management, such as providing maintenance, repair, and operational oversight for town-owned buildings and structures.
