Information for Voters booklet
Need a copy of the “red book”? The state’s Information for Voters guide, which explains all nine questions, should have arrived in your mailbox. If you need another, stop by the Town Clerk’s office at Town Hall. Large-print copies are available there too.
The information is also available online.
You may also access an audio only reading of the ballot questions.
School Committee Write-In Votes
No candidate names will be printed on the ballot for the Mount Greylock Regional School Committee, so every vote is a write-in. You may vote for up to two people for the Williamstown seats and up to two for the Lanesborough seats. Write each person’s name and address and fill in the oval next to it. Don’t worry about a small misspelling: your vote still counts if election workers can tell who you meant.
Specimen Ballot
A specimen ballot is a sample of the official ballot that will be used on Election Day. Reviewing it before you vote allows you to research candidates, ballot measures, and referendum questions at your own pace — so you can arrive at the polls informed and prepared.
Specimen ballots are for reference only and cannot be used for voting.
Nine Questions. Fourteen Offices. One Checklist.
In addition to nine ballot questions, Williamstown voters will decide 14 offices, including Congress and governor, state legislature, attorney general, school committee. That’s a full ballot, so the Town Clerk created a Voter Checklist to help you keep track of your choices. Fill it out ahead of time and bring it with you to the polls. Pick up a the checklist at the Town Clerk’s office or download and print out your own copy.
