The State Primary Election takes place Tuesday, September 1, 2026, from 7:00 AM until 8:00 PM at Williamstown Elementary School (WES). Park in the lot located at 66 School Street. This is your opportunity to choose who represents your political party in the November State Elections.

Apply To Vote By Mail
Vote by mail application postcards have been sent to every registered voter. If you’d like to vote by mail, please complete, sign, and return the application to the Town Clerk’s office at 31 North Street. This can be done by mail (postage paid), drop box outside Town Hall, or in person at the Clerk’s office. Make sure your application reaches the Clerk’s office by the deadline at 5:00 PM, Tuesday, August 25.

Vote Early In-Person at Town Hall
You may choose to vote early at Town Hall (31 North Street) instead of waiting until September 1. Early voting takes place the following dates and times:
- Saturday, August 22, 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
- Monday – Friday, August 24 – 28, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM each day
Voter Registration Deadline
The deadline to register to vote in the Primary is Saturday, August 22, 2026. You may register in person at the Town Clerk’s office during open hours. To accommodate in-person registration, the Town Clerk’s office will have extended hours on the last day to register:
- Saturday, August 22, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- You may also register and update your registration information online
You don’t need to enroll in a party to vote in a primary in Massachusetts. All registered voters can participate. But if you are registered in one party, you cannot vote in another party’s primary. To learn more about voting in a primary election, please see How to Vote in a Primary.
