The Town of Williamstown, Massachusetts will receive sealed bids for Refuse Collection on Town properties until 1:00 P.M. on Friday, May 8th, 2026.
All bids must be mailed to the Town of Williamstown, Town Offices, 31 North Street, Williamstown, MA 01267.
The sealed envelope should be clearly marked Refuse Collection, Department of Public Works, Town of Williamstown, MA.
The Town of Williamstown reserves the right to reject any and all bids or any part thereof, to waive any formalities in the bidding and to accept the bid considered to be in the best interest of the Town. Failure to submit all information may disqualify the bid.
Locations
- Municipal Building: a 2-yard steel container, with hinged lids, shall be provided and located at the rear of the Municipal Building. To be picked up once a week.
- Town Garage: a 4-yard steel container, with hinged lids, shall be provided and located at the rear of the Town Garage. To be picked up once a week.
- Little League Field, Stetson Road: a 2-yard steel container, with hinged lids, shall be provided and located near the concession stand at the Baseball Field on Stetson Road. This container shall be placed between May 15th and July 15th. To be picked up once a week.
- Spring Street: 13 trash barrel containers to be picked up Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday before 9:00am
- Spring Street: 7 recycling containers to be picked up Monday, Thursday, Saturday before 9:00am.
- Bus Stop (Main St near Spring St.): Monday, Thursday, Saturday before 9:00am.
- Field Park: 1 post mounted container to be picked up Tuesday and Thursday before 9:00am.
- Masonic Temple (front) 1 trash container to be emptied once a week before 9:00am.
Description
The contractor shall be responsible for collecting refuse from the locations and frequency listed above. On a non-working holiday, the container shall be emptied the next day. At no time shall containers scheduled for once per week collection exceed 8 calendar days between collecting. The contractor will provide trash liners for all the trash barrels and recycling containers and will remove them in accordance with the scheduled pickup for each container. All other containers are the property of the Town of Williamstown.
Duration
First week of July 2026 through the last week of June 2027.

Note: A site tour will be given on Tuesday, May 5th at 11:00 A.M. starting at the Town Garage. All sites needing collecting will be visited this one time only prior to the May 8th bid opening.
