Route 7 Repaving Project Scheduled for Summer 2026
Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is planning to repave Route 7 this summer, from Five Corners south to the New Ashford town line. Current plans call for milling work to begin at the end of May, with paving anticipated to start in early June. Paving is expected to be completed by the end of July, with the overall project scheduled for completion in November 2026.
MassDOT’s contractor has begun mobilizing equipment and crews in preparation for the resurfacing work. The proposed staging area will be located in the pull-off area along the southbound lane, just north of the MassDOT maintenance depot.
Residents and travelers are encouraged to plan for occasional traffic delays during construction. Additional updates will be shared as the project progresses.
AlertWilliamstown, a new mass notification system powered by Regroup, replaces CodeRED as the Town’s official platform for emergency alerts and community notifications.
As part of the mandated Cyclical Inspection Program, several homes will be inspected each summer to update property data records. Please allow the Data Collector inside your home to verify information on your property record card on file with the Town.
The Town of Williamstown has been awarded $454,181 through the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Municipal Fiber Grant Program to construct a town-owned fiber optic network connecting major municipal buildings and schools across the community.
The Historical Commission partners with Williamstown Historical Museum to offer a 1776 Self-Guided tour of the Town. Join in by driving to the sites or virtually from a comfy chair.
