Route 7 Repaving Project Scheduled for Summer 2026
Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is planning to repave Route 7 this summer, from Five Corners south to the New Ashford town line. Current plans call for milling work to begin at the end of May, with paving anticipated to start in early June. Paving is expected to be completed by the end of July, with the overall project scheduled for completion in November 2026.
MassDOT’s contractor has begun mobilizing equipment and crews in preparation for the resurfacing work. The proposed staging area will be located in the pull-off area along the southbound lane, just north of the MassDOT maintenance depot.
Residents and travelers are encouraged to plan for occasional traffic delays during construction. Additional updates will be shared as the project progresses.
The Department of Public Works is hiring a Cemetery and Parks Operations Supervisor responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all departmental operations, including maintenance, repair, and construction activities.
